Janis Strelnieks BBL player of the month!

The new season of BBL Elite Division has just started. New teams, new players, new emotions and, of course, new leaders. So, the winner of the first MVP title of season 2009/10 in BBL Elite Division is Janis Strelnieks from BC Ventspils. This time the biggest weight in setting the MVP of the month was given to the fact that Strelnieks has played four games while his competitors -only one or two. On average Janis Strelnieks collected 22,8 efficiency points per game and showed impressive individual statistics. During this month Latvian on average scored 19,8 points per game. Moreover, Strelnieks on average made 2,5 assists per game. Additionally, player of Ventspils made 1,3 steals and grabbed 3,3 rebounds per game. Strelnieks managed to collect two point shot field goal percentage of 65,2%. Moreover, he added 100,0% realization in free-throws as he made all 19 attempted shots. However, that was not all - he scored 58,8% of all the three point shots as well. Janis Strelnieks did not stop with a solid performance during the month. He managed to enter the hall of fame of BBL as well – at least until someone is going to beat this record. So, Strelnieks realized all six three pointers in the winning game against Nevezis and at the moment this is a league record in three point shots made at the same time keeping 100% accuracy in one game. Aditionally, it is important to emphasize the results of the team as well. Ventspils won two of the four games in the month of October.
